 Attendance and Make Up Work   Print   

Life in Jesus Classes meet during the school year between Labor Day Weekend and Memorial Day Weekend.  We at BLC are thrilled every week that you are able to come to LIJ Youth to be in the Word of God  and prayer with your friends, peers and small group leaders.  The Word of God is living and active and will always make an impact on your life.  We do understand families have the need to go out of town, illnesses and other engagements at churches prevent you from being in class every week.  Our Spritual Life Committee has asked for a 75 % attendance goal for students to participate in the Celebration Service.   We know this may not always be possible but we still want to celebrate with you in your faith journey.  Therefore, we have set up a small make up (Grace) request that is really more like updating us on your faith walk.  Each 8 week segment of the year, your small group leader will ask you to complete an assignment where you will be able to share how God has been working in your life connected with the teaching of that 8 week segment. Please excuse us if our attendance records are not accurate.  We do our best each week to take accurate attendance.

 Pre Communion Training   Print   

Pre Communion Teaching at BLC is done in the homes by the parents.  Parents need to decide when they feel their student is interested and ready to learn about The Lord's Supper.  This can be anytime between 5th and 12th grade.  Then you may pick up an instructional packet in the Church office or at the information booth.  Work through the packet at home with your student.  Please feel free to call one of the Pastors or Mary Lightbody with questions.  Your student will be asked to write a letter to Pastor briefly summarizing what he/she has learned.  Then set a time to meet with Pastor for an interview and a First Communion date at one of our regularly scheduled Communion Services.  (1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.)
