The purpose of the Altar Guild   

To prepare the chancel for all church services lovingly in service to the Lord. 

The duties of the Altar Guild 

· Change paraments according to the liturgical season;

· Prepare the bread and wine prior to all communion services,

· Make preparations for baptisms, funerals, weddings and festival services;

· Launder the robes of Pastors and Elders;

· Monitor the supply of communion components (wafers, wine and juice) and candles and purchase supplies as necessary.

· The Altar Guild utilizes 3-5 volunteers to serve in increments of two months during the year.

Altar Flowers beautify and glorify the church sanctuary.   Sally Eickelmann coordinates the weekly altar flowers and special flowers during Christmas and Easter.  Anyone wishing to donate flowers for a particular Sunday may sign-up on the chart on the bulletin board in the church entry.
